Meet Beauty

BEAUTY
1 year old, female LAB/HUSKY

Beauty is a happy girl with a sweet disposition. Yet she can be shy, nervous and timid. It's no surprise given the changes and upheaval she has gone through after her long journey into rescue. This will subside as she settles in and becomes more comfortable in her forever home. Luckily she's very adaptable and easily adjusts to new situations.
She will need a patient family willing to go back to basics with training, and to help her trust that her new home is safe, welcoming and permanent. Obedience classes will be a pleasure as she is very smart, eager to learn and has already mastered some new tricks and commands.
She is a large one-year old husky lab mix, weighing in at 75lbs, and should be at her ideal weight soon, just needing to gain a few more pounds. Luckily she enjoys her meals, extra treats, and is food-motivated. She has an adorable expression with one ear permanently cocked, and loves to play with squeaky toys and chewy bones. Being part husky, she always needs and enjoys a good brushing.
As with many Northern Dogs' Project rescues, she has an aversion to barriers and cramped spaces, like crates and elevators. With patience and positive reinforcement, she has begun to enjoy car rides. A yard with a strong, high fence would be ideal as she loves to explore. She is not currently crated, but has proven reliable roaming freely in the house, with no signs of separation anxiety or destructive behavior at this time. She is fully housetrained and does well on leash with a harness. She is a very strong puller when something catches her eye, and will require an adept handler. She is highly prey-driven, so caution is required when small animals are about. As a result, a cat and small animal-free home is a must.
She really enjoys the company of other dogs, and would benefit from time spent with like-sized friends or another large dog in the family. A home with older children only please as she is a big, strong, exuberant girl and still learning to keep four feet on the floor. Training, time and patience are just what's needed to make this Beauty-ful diamond in the ruff shine.
Beauty has been vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, vet checked, spayed, heartworm tested and treated with Advantage Multi. She came to us from IFAWs Northern Dogs Project.

The adoption fee is $400 and includes spay/neuter (dogs over 6 months), vaccines, heartworm test (dogs over 6 months), deworming, Flea and tick prevention and microchip. Please visit www.paws-united.com to fill out an application.
**For puppies under 6 months a $100 spay/neuter rebate will be given with proof of spay/neuter certificate signed by a vet, if they have not been done prior to adoption.**
**Please note we DO NOT adopt our dogs as outdoor/farm dogs. These dogs are coming to us as stray, roaming or dogs that have lived a life tied to a chain. Our goal is to bring them in the house off the chain and give them a pampered indoor dogs lifestyle. Unless otherwise stated we will not even consider a home that has intentions of leaving our dogs outdoors or tied to a chain**
