Beau - IN FOSTER HOME - AVAILABLE TO ADOPT's Story

Beau is a 3-year-old, 35-pound Blue Heeler mix with a gentle soul and a quiet, thoughtful personality. After coming from a hoarding situation, Beau has spent the past few months learning what it means to feel safe, loved, and part of a family — and he continues to make incredible progress every day.

This sweet boy has truly settled into foster care and is becoming more confident all the time. Beau loves long walks, car rides, cozy couch naps, and simply being near his people. He’s affectionate without being demanding, rarely barks, and has a calm presence that makes him an easy companion to have around the house.

Beau is now housetrained, crate trained (a little whining in the morning but has come a long way!), and doing wonderfully with his foster family’s cats after slow, supervised introductions. He gets along well with other dogs and has been gentle and calm around children. He’s also discovering the joy of toys and enjoys carrying them around and entertaining himself.

Like many curious dogs, Beau can still get into a little mischief if interesting “treasures” like socks or shoes are left within reach — but when he has toys available, he happily sticks to those instead. He’s smart, eager to learn, and already knows skills like sit, shake, and coming when called.

While Beau has made huge strides, he can still be a little cautious around unfamiliar adults at first and may need a little patience while he warms up. But once he trusts you, his loyal and loving personality shines through. Beau is the kind of dog who doesn’t demand attention — he quietly steals your heart instead!

Apply to adopt Beau at redbarnrescue.com

Red Barn Rescue's Adoption Policy
All dogs in our care are spayed/neutered, microchipped, vaccinated (including Rabies when age-appropriate), heartworm tested, and kept on heartworm, flea, and tick preventatives. Many dogs also receive dental care, heartworm treatment, or other medical procedures as needed. Prospective adopters must complete an adoption application and receive approval before meeting a dog. Applicants must list all current pets, and those pets must be spayed/neutered, current on vaccinations, and on heartworm prevention. A home visit may be required as part of our approval process. Once approved, we will schedule a meet-and-greet with your family, including current dogs. Adopters are responsible for ongoing veterinary care, keeping their pets up to date on vaccines and preventatives, and maintaining a safe, responsible home. If you are looking for a specific type or breed, you may submit an application and note your preferences for future consideration. Our adoption fee reflects the medical care and resources invested in preparing each dog for a healthy start. If an adopter can no longer care for their dog, the dog must be returned to Red Barn Rescue as stated in our contract.
