Bear (Harvey) Pit Bull Terrier & Great Dane Mix Portland, OR

Bear is a 1-2 year old Great Dane pit bull mix looking for a home where he has open space to run, with or without other dogs.

Here's what his foster mom says about this handsome boy:

He loves to be loved. He has the perfect blend of both breeds when it comes to giving his humans love and affection. He is smart, treat motivated, loving, loyal and protective. Truly a complete package. He thrives under guidance from his people, he lives to please.

Bear LOVES kids and would do best in a home with older children, as he is completely unaware of his size and tends to knock littles over in excitement. He is just that excited to love his people.

He gets along with other dogs, as long as they're respectful and has never bothered my cats other than the occasional sniff.

He can be the perfect couch potato OR be the active hiking buddy.

He can be people selective, almost always towards men. I think this is from whomever mistreated him. Bear came from a less than ideal situation and spent an unknown amount of time alone to fend for himself. So trust with him is earned. But once you have it you'll have it forever. With treats and guidance he works through this quickly. He is getting better at this every day. The more interactions he has the better he does! Did I mention he's very treat motivated?!

He knows many commands, the list grows every day. Sit, lay down, bed, kennel, leave it, yes, no, etc.

He does great for baths, nail trims, perfect gentleman on the leash once that bond is formed with him, does great in the car (he LOVES car rides), learning the art of fetch- he's GREAT at chase but not so much at the drop it part yet! He'd rather play tug. The list goes on and on and on.

I would keep this boy in a heartbeat if I could. He has endless potential and love to give.

He is neutered, vaccinated and ready to go!
