Bear's Story
Berry/Bear is a busy boy in search of a job! 💙

He is definitely not a dog that will do well watching the world from a pen, sleeping in a crate, or lounging around a house. He definitely exhibits the behavior of a working dog and would benefit from a working home. However, he has a lovely personality and really wants to please you, so he will be a very rewarding dog for whoever chooses to put the time into him!

His physical condition was very poor on intake and he’s still recovering, so his body can’t keep up with the activity and enrichment his brain desires. We’ve been carefully putting weight and muscle on him in a way that isn’t too hard on his body. He has been so kind and playful despite the bad hand he was previously dealt.

Here’s some random things we’ve learned about Berry since fostering him:
He appears to be housebroken and hasn’t gotten into anything he shouldn’t. He still has the attention span of a puppy and wants to be included in everything. He seems to warm up quickly to new people and new dogs, although he has not been introduced to any small dogs or cats. He respects horses. He will politely set boundaries with other dogs, but is not great at acknowledging when boundaries are set for him. We are currently working on leash skills, exercising impulse control with food (but who can blame him?), and learning when it is/isn’t appropriate to bark. We’ve been grooming him more and more every day to prepare him for the maintenance his coat type requires (he was quite matted when he arrived), and he soaks it up like an attention sponge!
Bear is roughly 2 years old, fully vetted neutered. He has a low adoption fee to find a good fitting home.

Apply below for a meet and greet.
https://docs.google.com/.../1ebLDg2wybu.../viewform...
