Bear

Bear is a kind and gentle giant who came to us from a shelter where he was too scared to thrive. He is about 2-3 years old, weighs 90 pounds. His calm and observant nature always attracts lots of attention at adoption events where he sits next to our table like he is supervising us! Bear is great with other dogs and even greats rambunctious puppies with a gentle sniff and has dog park potential! He is shy around new people and takes a while to warm up enough to play. He is well house trained, very smart and sure to make a loyal, life long companion. <br/><br/>Bear has no history of guarding livestock and we are not looking for a working home for him. Bear is doing to make a great house dog and family member for the right adopter! <br/><br/>Augusta Dog Adoptions is a 501c3 charitable rescue. We take applications online and schedule adoptions in Waynesboro, Va. A $175.00 adoption fee ($300 for puppies under 6 months old) helps us take care of all the dogs we rescue. All dogs are spayed/neutered, tested for heartworm and tick borne diseases (if old enough), microchipped, and vaccinated for rabies (if old enough), distemper/parvo and bordetella. They are also treated for internal and external parasites. Many dogs also receive extensive medical care such as dental work and major surgeries.
