Bear's Story

Meet Bear!

Bear is a 6-year-old, 9-pound Shih Tzu who is looking for a very special person to call his own. This little guy is sweet, playful, cuddly, and happiest when he is right beside his person. He’s the kind of dog who wants to be your constant companion and would love nothing more than to go along on walks, errands, adventures, or simply curl up next to you at home.

Bear gets along well with other dogs and cats and enjoys having canine friends around. He may take a short time to warm up to new people, but he is very affectionate once he feels comfortable.

Bear is accustomed to having someone around most of the time, so he does best with plenty of companionship and isn’t a good match for a home where he would regularly be left alone for long periods. A person who works from home, is retired, or simply enjoys having a little shadow by their side would be wonderful for him.

He previously used pee pads, but he’s been doing great with a dog door in his foster home and has been following the resident dogs’ routine successfully.

Bear’s elderly owner is no longer able to provide the level of care and companionship he needs, so we’re looking for a loving home where this sweet little guy can spend his years being someone’s beloved buddy.

Bear would love a home where he can be included in everyday life, get out and explore regularly, and—most importantly—be someone’s very special companion.

He’s UTD on rabies and distemper vaccines, dewormed, heartworm negative, and neutered. He will also be microchipped!

Email operationcareadoptions@yahoo.com for additional questions or find the adoption application link below.

**** last picture is where he had razor burn because a groomer clipped him too close.
