BEAN's Story
ATTENTION ALL BERNER LOVERS!!!
GENTLE BEAN

At 90 pounds, BEAN is the definition of a gentle giant. Sweet, affectionate, and deeply people-oriented, he wants nothing more than to be close to his humans and part of everyday life. He is the kind of dog who bonds deeply and completely.
Bean is friendly with everyone he meets. Strangers, men, respectful children, and other dogs are all welcomed with the same open, happy attitude. He has zero aggression, barely barks, and moves through the world with a good-natured ease that makes him an instant favourite.

At home, he is calm and content. He sleeps in his own bed, is used to doing his business in the backyard, and has a moderate energy level. While he enjoys activity and would happily join you for walks or outdoor time, he is just as happy stretching out and relaxing nearby.

He is smart and eager to please, so consistent structure and training will help him become a well-mannered adult. On leash, his enthusiasm can take over so he will need leash walk training. Bean also needs help understanding personal space and reading other dogs’ signals, as his friendly nature sometimes comes on a little strong.

This is a dog who thrives on companionship. He does not enjoy being left alone for long periods and will do best in a home where someone is around a lot.

The right home:
• Experience with large or giant breeds
• Committed to training and leash work
• Children 12+ due to his size and enthusiasm
• Secure fenced yard preferable (no hedges or electric fencing)

The details:
• 90 lbs, 2 year old Bernese Mountain Dog
• Extremely affectionate, loyal, and gentle
• Excellent with people and dogs
• Moderate activity level
• Not hypoallergenic
• Housetrained
• Neutered
• Up to date on his vaccines.
• Microchipped

If you have the time, the love and the dedication for BEAN please fill out an application at:
gerdysrescue.org/adoption-form/
No direct message inquiries, please.
We adopt to Montreal and surrounding areas only.
We will only respond to applicants who match the requirements.

*********************
