Arrival story: Baxter was a pandemic puppy who needs more attention now that his family is back to work. Waggin Tails was entrusted to find him his forever home.

Approximate age / Weight: 8 mths/50 lbs

Personality: Baxter is your typical friendly and outgoing puppy. He's very social with his dog pals at dog daycare and loves loves loves to play! He also loves his humans, even the little ones, but can be a little over zealous, as is common with young puppies in big bodies. His go to move is to jump up so he can ravish you with kisses. He's currently in training and working on his good boy manners. Baxter is not a fan of the crate but will go in for short periods of time. He can be anxious about being alone as he had his humans home a lot during the pandemic then spent a lot of time at dog daycare once they went back to work. He would benefit from a home with a routine so he learns what to expect and can begin to feel comfortable when alone.

Forever home: Baxter would do best in a home with a routine and where he would not be left alone for long periods of time. His family should be willing to allow him to adjust to his new home gradually and at his own pace. He'd do fine as an only dog but wouldn't say no to a canine sibling. He's initially not a fan of sharing his toys however has successfully worked those issues out with the resident dogs. Baxter has been around children but he's still a puppy that can be a little mouthy and jumpy so older children would be best. Baxter's family should be willing to continue his training and invest the time it takes to help a pup along socially to adulthood. He would benefit from a fenced yard so he can romp off his puppy energy. No apartments/townhouses/condos.
