Bart (Foster or Adopter Needed)'s Story

Meet Bart!

Bart is a 3-year-old Flat-Coated Retriever (62 lbs) who is up to date on all vaccines and currently working on building confidence through training. He has a sensitive nature and can be unsure of new people at first, so slow, structured introductions are essential for him to feel safe. While he does well with dogs, we are looking for a home where he will be your only puppy love.

Because of this, Bart is looking for an *experienced* adopter who is committed to participating in training sessions before bringing him home, so he can build trust gradually. His trainers will also support the transition to set both Bart and his adopter up for success.

Bart would do best in a calm, suburban or country home with adults only. Once he feels comfortable, this fella is incredibly loyal and forms a strong bond with his person. With patience, consistency, and continued training, he will make a deeply rewarding companion.

Bart can’t wait to meet you! He is waiting in boarding for his perfect forever home. He is neutered, microchipped and vaccinated.

To foster to adopt Bart apply at www.peace4paws.org/foster-application on a laptop or computer. If you have specific adoption or foster questions, please email: judy.atchison@yahoo.com

THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN RESCUING A DOG!

U.S. shelter and adoption estimates 2012

3,500—Number of animal shelters •

6-8 million—Number of cats and dogs entering shelters each year

25 percent—Percentage of purebred dogs in shelters •

3-4 million—Number cats and dogs adopted from shelters each year

2.7 million—Number of adoptable cats and dogs euthanized in shelters each year

25% of dogs in shelters are pure bred - that's 1 in 4!
