Barney's Story

Meet Barney!

Barney is a 6-year-old, 30-pound neutered male who has been waiting far too long for a place to call home. He's potty trained, incredibly affectionate, and happiest when he can spend his days relaxing beside his person, taking naps, cuddling, and snuggling in bed.

Barney is looking for a quiet, predictable home with a retiree, someone who works from home, or a single-person household where he can feel safe and secure. He doesn't need much exercise — just potty breaks and a few short walks — because if you give him the choice between sightseeing and snuggling, hes choosing snuggling every time!

He gets along with both dogs and cats, although he would probably be happiest as your one and only pet or with a laid-back companion. He can bark when unfamiliar people come into the home, so a calm environment with someone who understands his need for security would be ideal.

Barney has been with us for nearly two years, and after a recent adoption fell through, he's back to waiting for his perfect match. We've learned that what this sweet boy really needs is a calm home, a predictable routine, and someone who will give him the time and reassurance he needs to feel safe.

Barney has waited long enough.
