****We are Huts for Mutts-Hamilton Dog Rescue, Hamilton, TX. We are a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that is working with the City of Hamilton and the Hico Police Department to find loving foster and permanent homes for dogs that have been abandoned and have ended up in the Hamilton Pound or the Hico Animal Shelter. We are in Texas, and we transport our dogs North because Texas is overflowing with unwanted dogs.<br/>All of our dogs are vaccinated and on preventatives. Dogs older than six months are spayed or neutered.<br/>Huts for Mutts has been in operation for nearly 20 years, providing free spay/neuter to low-income residents of Hamilton, and doing our best to find loving homes for abandoned, neglected or abused dogs. Your new best friend.<br/><br/>Beautiful Barney is an ~10-month-old puppy, who came to the to the Hico Animal Shelter as an owner surrender. It wasn't his fault. Barney is a wonderful dog but was too much of a puppy for his former owner who lives in a very small apartment with three young children and cats. She felt she just couldn't provide the home and space he needs to thrive.<br/><br/>Barney is great and very gentle with children. In his former home he was with three girls, the youngest was two. Barney just needed more space to run and play. Barney is good with other dogs but can play a bit rough. He doesn't know his own size, currently 50 lbs. The smaller puppies, who are currently at the shelter don't like him much. Poor Barney.<br/><br/>Barney is a neutered male, Rottweiler mix, older puppy, (~10 months). He's up to date on vaccines, rabies, and preventatives for flea/tick/heartworm. He is heartworm negative.<br/><br/>Barney is good on leash and is house trained. He seems to be fine with cats, but we always recommend slow introductions. He's a great pup who just needs a loving home to grow and thrive.
