Our Mission
Huts for Mutts--Hamilton Dog Rescue exists to reduce the number of pets euthanized due to over-population through our spay/neuter program as well as our volunteer efforts to rehome unwanted and homeless pets.
Adoption Policy
Through conversation and vet references we determine if a potential pet parent will offer a responsible, "forever" home. When the sanctuary was in operation we learned no matter what was agreed on in the contract, once the dog was handed to a new owner, that owner could/would do as they pleased so there was little reason to demand a list of necessities but rather, in pleasant conversation, determine if the potential adopter would meet the basic needs of the dog, including a LOVING, COMPASSIONATE, KIND home with shelter, food and vet care.
