Barley's Story

Meet Barley

If you're looking for a giant teddy bear who thinks he's a lap dog, Barley is your guy!

At just 2 years old and weighing in at a lovable 100 pounds, Barley has a heart every bit as big as he is. His favorite place to be is right beside his people—preferably curled up as close as possible for cuddles. Personal space? Barley hasn't quite figured out what that means!

Barley is a sweet, affectionate boy who loves spending time with his family. He enjoys getting out for walks, and we're currently working on his leash manners. Every day he continues to improve, and with consistency and positive reinforcement, he's becoming a wonderful walking companion.

Barley has done well with children aged 6 and older and has been calm and respectful around cats. He will also be working closely with our certified trainer to complete a full dog-to-dog assessment so we can better understand what type of canine companions, if any, would be the best fit for him.

More than anything, Barley is looking for a family that will love him for the gentle giant he is. He has so much love to give and is ready to become someone's loyal best friend, adventure buddy, and oversized cuddle companion.

If you're ready to welcome 100 pounds of unconditional love into your home, Barley can't wait to meet you!

Eddy's Nomads Dog Rescue's Adoption Policy
Eddy's Nomads Dog Rescue is committed to placing each dog in a safe, loving, and permanent home. Every adoption application is reviewed individually, taking into consideration the dog's needs, the applicant's lifestyle, experience, and ability to provide lifelong care. Our adoption process may include an application, reference checks, veterinary reference (when applicable), interviews, and a home visit or virtual home assessment. We believe there is no one-size-fits-all home, and we focus on making the best match for both the dog and the adopter. We provide full disclosure of each dog's known medical and behavioral history and remain available to offer guidance and support after adoption. If an adopter is ever unable to keep their adopted dog, the dog must be returned to Eddy's Nomads Dog Rescue rather than being rehomed elsewhere.
