Barbet's Story
Ocotilla Rd x Ramona Ave. ***** AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION NOW ***** Intact female ~2 yrs. old 95 pounds Vaccines given 6-5-26 No microchip ALT ID# 6-3-26 7 6-9-26 Go very slow with this girl, she is very fearful at this time, twitches with touch, will calm down in quiet environment and stop twitching, lowers head to be pet. Did great for exam. Walks on leash 7/15/26 - Dog is very strong and pulls heavily on leash, very outgoing with staff, can appear standoffish while in kennel. LOVES squeaky toys, is not food motivated, can be pet head to tail with no issues and likes to lean into staff for pets and attention. *****Animals are eligible for adoption by the public after their stray hold period. Rescues are permitted to pull on 6/12/26; animal is also legally available for euthanasia on this same date. AVAS will continue to follow the protocols in place for the health/safety of the animals in our care. The canine population currently in our care that are not showing symptoms will be posted on our website for public viewing. Canines will continue to be monitored by our medical staff under the direction of our supervising Veterinarian.
