Barb's Story

Meet Barb!

She is looking for a foster home or an adopter! Adoptions are open to the state of Florida.

At absolutely no fault of her own, Barb didn’t end up here on accident. She came all the way from the Cayman Islands through the humane society who pulled her before a big storm hit and she was adopted out. She thought she was in her forever home, but just a couple months later, she was abandoned at a dog park in Tampa.. like she didn’t even matter 💔

We were able to grab her and track down her owner, but he told us he “never owned a dog.” Barb was tossed away as if she were a piece of trash... At least they were kind enough (we say that VERY LIGHTLY) to leave her at a dog park where she was actually able to be found.. but now she’s having to pay the price by sitting in boarding where she’s confused, stressed, and completely alone.
Day after day she waits, not understanding why the people she trusted never came back for her.

Boarding is loud, unfamiliar, and no place for a dog who just wants to feel safe and loved again. She deserves so much more than this. Barb needs a family that understands she’s still a puppy and has a ton of energy, needs training and correction, and needs a family that won’t give up on her.

📍Wesley Chapel, FL.
1 yo
45 lbs
Australian Kelpie Mix
Female
Microchipped, spayed, and vaccinated

**Barb is very nippy when playing though she means no harm! She just gets very excited and doesn’t realize her size. No children under 10, and would do best with another dog her size. We’re unsure about cats.**

Even if you can’t adopt, just being able to open your home to foster her would make a huge difference. We supply EVERYTHING!!! Our goal is to ensure every animal is placed in a safe, loving, and permanent home. To protect their well-being, our rescue follows these adoption guidelines: • A brief video home check is required prior to finalizing any adoption. •All adult members of the household must review and sign the adoption contract. • Background checks are conducted to confirm a safe environment. • Declawing or allowing adopted cats to roam outdoors is strictly prohibited. • Veterinary references are required and will be verified. • If at any point the adopter cannot continue to care for the animal, the pet must be returned to the rescue. •A medical care agreement ensures that if an adopter cannot afford necessary vet treatment, the animal will return to the rescue for care. •We conduct a meet-and-greet with potential adopters to make sure the household environment and lifestyle appropriately match the needs of the animal. Our policies are designed to ensure every rescued pet has the best chance at a safe and happy forever home.
