Meet Balto!<br/><br/>Balto is a 5-month-old, 20-pound puppy with a big personality, an even bigger sense of curiosity, and plenty of love to give. He’s playful, energetic, affectionate, and incredibly people-oriented — the kind of puppy who wants to be right in the middle of whatever is going on.<br/><br/>He loves getting outside and would be a great match for someone looking for a future walking, hiking, and adventure buddy. Balto already walks beautifully on leash and happily joins his foster for longer outings, taking in the world with typical puppy enthusiasm. He has a moderate-to-high energy level, so he’ll be happiest with someone who enjoys staying active and wants a dog who can keep up.<br/><br/>Balto is also proving to be a very smart little guy. He already knows “sit,” is extremely treat-motivated, and picks up new things quickly, which makes training both fun and rewarding. He’s currently teething, so chew toys and bones are very important business in his world.<br/><br/>At home, Balto is crate trained and does wonderfully when left alone, settling without crying. He gets excited when guests arrive and loves having people around, but he’s also learning how to balance all that puppy enthusiasm with downtime.<br/><br/>Balto enjoys playing with his foster’s resident dog and can do well with other dogs once he has a chance to get comfortable. He may be a little unsure around larger dogs at first, but with a proper introduction he settles in and shows his friendly, playful side. He could be happy as an only dog or with a canine companion.<br/><br/>He can absolutely thrive in an apartment as long as he gets the exercise, enrichment, and continued training every young puppy needs. Balto is affectionate, eager to learn, adventurous, and full of potential.
