Bailey is accepting applications and is being fostered in MD. He has an appt pending to be neutered in the near future.

What Bailey's foster mom has to say about Bailey:Bailey’s favorite activities are snuggling, sleeping, and snuggling while sleeping. He is an affectionate, 60lb lapdog who could easily win Best Personality. A friend to everyone he meets, Bailey loves people and wants to say ‘Hi’ to every dog in his neighborhood. He is enthusiastically curious about cats too.


Bailey’s life has been difficult but you would never guess that given how outgoing and trusting he is. He is blind in both eyes although he may be able to see shadows.


He would be best placed in a mellow, low stress/activity household where he won’t be left alone all day. Probably due to his rough past, Bailey suffers from separation anxiety. This is likely treatable with consistent training; he is a smart guy who is very trainable and has a great memory. Because of his heartworm treatment, his foster mom hasn’t pressed training on him quite yet.


Living with another dog would probably be a great fit or --better yet-- a work-from-home human to lay next to all day. Bailey also enjoys car rides and joining his foster mom at restaurants, so you can take him pretty much anywhere as long as you’re not in a hurry.


Bailey was born to be someone’s dedicated and steadfast companion. He approaches the ‘man’s best friend’ moniker like it’s his job. Although he is blind, he is very empathetic and senses the kind of friend you need the moment you walk through the door. If you like to cuddle, take meandering walks, charm the pants off people, and - yes- share the warm spot on the couch, then you and Bailey would be a great fit.
