Bailey's Story

***PLEASE READ ENTIRE BIO & ADOPTION CRITERIA BEFORE CONTACTING ODR Inc. or APPLYING FOR ADOPTION, THANKS!***

Meet Bailey!

Looking for a loyal companion with a heart full of love? Bailey is a beautiful 12-year-old black and tan longhaired Spayed Dachshund who proves that age is just a number.

This sweet 20-pound girl is house trained, uses her doggie door, and rarely has accidents. Bailey has Cushing's disease, which is well managed with her medication, and she's doing wonderfully. She loves going for walks, enjoys spending time with other dogs, and is happiest soaking up love and attention.

Bailey is ready to spend her golden years with a family who will cherish her as much as she'll cherish them. Could that be you?

Adoption Application:
https://form.jotform.com/62555766852165

Like all Dachshunds, Bailey enjoys playing and warming their little bones in the sunshine, along with regular walks Bailey needs a secure fenced yard to run around and explore safely. While small in stature, doxies are big on personality and don't generally do well in apartments. Therefore we adopt to families who live in single family homes (or Duplexes) with secure fenced yards.

OUR CRITERIA:

Based on 30 years of experience with rescue doxies, we have found that the following criteria best sets up our doxies and their new families for success.

Do you work from home/stay at home/work part time? Have a securely fenced yard? We generally do not place same gender dogs in a home unless they were raised together. We prefer non-smokers and a home with no other small animals (ferrets, hamsters, etc). Cats are on a case by case basis depending on the dog. Remember, these are rescues; many were surrendered because of these issues.

All our dogs are vetted and vaccinated. If available, theyll come with a few goodies to get you started (food, toys and a harness). The adoption fee is $295, sorry no exceptions, as this covers the cost to rescue them, vet them and take care of them while in our rescue. It also helps towards the care of other doxies that come with huge vet/dental bills or need extensive behavioral training.

Can you give Bailey a happy, carefree forever home? If interested, please complete the adoption application at:

Oregon Dachshund Rescue https://www.odr-inc.org/adopt and email it to: jrangan@comcast.net

Our adoption coordinator will attempt to contact with you within 48-72 hours. Please be patient as we are solely volunteer run.
Thank you for supporting our rescue efforts!

Oregon Dachshund Rescue Inc.'s Adoption Policy
The following is a list of criteria that we look for in potential adopters (we realize that not everyone will appreciate our requirements) but we've found these homes to be the most successful: *Securely fenced yard (Apartment living not accepted) *Adopter over 21 years of age *Shouldn't work long hours away from home -working full time away from home will not be allowed. Preference given to retired or work from home/stay at home or limited part time work. These are very social dogs and they do best when they can be with their people most of the time. *Non-smoking home *We don't normally place same sex dogs in a household *We will not place our rescue dogs in a home with small animals like hamsters, chickens, rabbits, etc. as these dogs have a strong prey instinct The first seven days of your adoption will be considered a trial period. If you and your new pet are not a match for each other for any reason, this is a good way to find out. You will be asked to check in regularly to let Oregon Dachshund Rescue, Inc. know things are going well. You may also be asked to allow a visit from an Oregon Dachshund Rescue, Inc. representative to make sure all is well.
