I was surrendered with the name Baileys and my Foster Dad just dropped the S as I only needed one personality. I am a mix of some sort and my vet and foster dad thinks I’m a Belgian/German shepherd mix. <br/><br/>I’m extremely smart, probably smarter than my Foster Dad but don’t tell him that. I love long walks and I hold my Foster Dad accountable for making sure I get one in the morning and in the evening before bed. <br/><br/>I love to play ball in the backyard and my Foster Dad takes me out several times per day to toss balls for me. He throws 10 balls for me and tells me ‘last one’ on number 10 and I know that it’s time to go in. He then tells me to put my ball away and I’ll drop it at the closet door for him to put up. I cannot be trusted to have balls out on my own as I tend to drive people batty with handing them my wet slobbery ball all day (and all night).<br/><br/>I am bell trained at the back door and will jingle my bells when I need to go out to take care of business. I’ll jingle them other times as well just to make sure I’m getting the love an attention that I deserve or if I just want to go do a lap around the yard. When I go out, my Foster Dad goes with me as I like my people near. If he doesn’t come, I’ll wait by the back door for him to come. If he puts me out by myself, I’ll give him dirty looks from the back window. <br/><br/>I am a Velcro dog. Like to go to the bathroom by yourself? Those days are over. I won’t get in the shower with you, and the tub I’m not sure of. I do cooperate (mostly) when I’m getting a bath. It has to be fun, right? Oh, and when I say Velcro, I mean Billy Mays middle of the night infomercial strength Velcro. I do have some separation anxiety, but my Foster Dad checks on me from the camera and talks to me when he’s away. I hear his voice in that little camera thing over there and I don’t know how he does it.<br/>I do well riding in the backseat of the truck and have only tried to ride shotgun once. I do bark at motorcycles and sometimes other dogs that I see. <br/><br/>I love visits to Academy Sports in Georgetown as there’s the guys in the back corner that have a cookie jar on the shelf, and they spoil me with treats when I visit. <br/><br/>I can be a little spooked by new things. With Halloween coming, people in the neighborhood are putting up their decorations. I’m fine with most but that air filled black cat with the moving head and beady red eyes will get me a little anxious. Occasionally on my walks I have been spooked and have attempted to get out of my harness. Calm reassurance from my Foster Dad calms me down and I settle down, get some pets and reassurance and I’m back to my normal self.<br/><br/>I walk well on a leash and don’t pull unless you’re walking too slow for me. I love my bandana that my foster dad gave to me – I’ll call it my Dobbie sock as it calmed my anxiety a little bit. <br/><br/>I was abandoned by one of my former owners and I was very cautious and did not let my foster dad touch me for about 10 days. He came to my home and let me out, fed and played ball with me. After some time, I figured he was not so bad so I gave him kisses and a few days later he moved me to his home where I am now. <br/><br/>I do have training and know such things as Sit, Lay, Stay, Place (head inside immediately or go to my crate), kennel, wait, leave it and cross (used when crossing each intersection during a walk if the path is different from the routine). <br/><br/>My foster sister is a black kitty who used to be feral. She’s living her best life now and if I get out of line, she tells me. I do like to mess with her though but I know she’s the boss. <br/><br/>At night my Foster Dad has crated me and I don’t care for this much. I love the nights when I get to take over 90% of the bed and snuggle with my foster dad. I give good hugs and kisses and I do share the bed with my foster sister (although she can spook me if she sneaks in bed in the dark as she’s all black).<br/>?<br/>I enjoy my toys and there’s not a stuffy alive that I’ve not destroyed in 3 seconds flat. I have one small stuffy that I’ve not destroyed and I don’t remember why.
