Bailey's Story

Bailey is a beautiful, smart, and energetic 11 year old long-haired Chihuahua, on
the larger side of small at around 15 to 18 pounds. She is looking for a person
who is ready to be her companion.
Bailey's family is navigating some concurrent life changes and has asked for help
finding her a more suitable home. She has had some separation anxiety in the
past when left behind a gate away from her people, and she is starting a
medication trial along with additional training support to help her work through
it.
Bailey would be a wonderful match for someone who loves outings and walks and
who is willing to teach her how to be a couch potato. Right now she lives a bit
more like a full size dog, sleeping in her own bed and sitting next to her person
rather than on them. If you are looking for a dog who is already independent and
easygoing about her own space, she has that down. If you are hoping for a lap
cuddler, that is her next adventure to learn, and she will have a patient teacher in
the right home.
She would do well in a family with children who are experienced with dogs, or a
retired household with grandchildren three and up who are dog savvy.

Please visit our website www.vipp.org to learn more about this amazing pet and to see other available dogs and cats.

Vashon Island Pet Protectors's Adoption Policy
Vashon Island Pet Protectors will consider adoptive families in the Vashon and surrounding areas. This is simply due to logistics and distance of travel for our volunteers. Our goal is to make the best rescue match taking into consideration the animal's background and your family's needs. Every animal is different: personality, temperament, energy, comfort with kids and other animals, medical needs and more. We take all these factors into consideration when making a forever-home match. We are very careful about the placements we make. We do our best to match the right animal with the right adoptive home because we want this to be the pet's permanent home.
