Bailey's Story

(not a good candidate for first time dog ownership.)
DOES NOT LIKE CATS
No kids under age 10
He is black, my camera makes him look brown. Sorry about that.

Bailey is a 2 yr old black mini schnauzer. His previous family didn't understand puppy behavior and didn't train him with good manners and surrendered him.

He has lots of energy, is VERY smart and doesn't like to be bored. He still plays with his mouth (puppy behavior still) and needs training.
Seems to have some separation anxiety that I expect will go away once he gets lots of exercise and training. Dogs thrive and derive their security with structure, rules and boundaries from their owner.
He needs a FIRM TENDER PATIENT leader/owner who is willing to invest time in him and reap the rewards. Being with someone who is home most the day would be ideal.

He is a great cuddler (very soft fur) and loves to be on your lap in the evening and watch tv.
He also lets you know when he has to go outside.
He sleeps in a crate and is crated when foster mom is not home. It's very important for his owner to establish leadership because he thinks he's smart enough to run the show.
He loves the interactive toys where he has to find the food that is hidden, or his wobble kong to get his food.

He has a strong nose and might be good for someone who wants to compete in the scent competitions they do with dogs.
If you would like a dog for a companion, walking/running buddy, someone to invest some time in with a great reward, Bailey just might be the right one for you.
