Meet Bagel! Bagel is an absolutely beautiful Shetland Sheepdog puppy born April 10, 2026, who came to rescue from the commercial pet trade in June. After spending some extra time with us so he could grow strong enough for a more complicated neuter surgery due to unilateral cryptorchidism, our little Bagel-Man has officially been medically cleared and is ready to find his forever family! Bagel is 11.2 pounds of gentle, quiet, intelligent puppy goodness. His foster describes him as mellow, curious, adventurous and independent. He's a little slow to warm up, preferring to observe first, but once comfortable he'll offer kisses, affection and his own wonderfully understated companionship. He's potty trained, uses a doggie door, is crate trained, rides well in the car and is learning basic commands. He's done well with male and female dogs, cats, adults, elderly people and an approximately eight-year-old child. Bagel loves being outside, puzzle feeders, carrying stuffed animals and sticks, and absolutely loses his little Bagel mind over a cat teaser with ribbons and a bell. His favorite nightly game involves jumping onto his foster sister's back when she lies on the turf. He's affectionate without being clingy and generally prefers lying beside his person rather than directly on them. Bagel isn't the puppy looking for the loudest life. He's looking for his person.
