Babe Ruth's Story

Meet Babe Ruth - A Big Heart Ready for His Home Run!

American Staffordshire Terrier mix
Weight: 40lbs
Estimated birthday: 3/21/2022

Babe Ruth is a sweet, cuddly boy who wants nothing more than love and affection. His story didn't start the way it should have......he was rescued by Sunnyside from a large hoarding situation where he was kept outside in a crate without a proper bottom, left in the woods/backyard. Despite that rough beginning, Babe Ruth has held onto the kindest, most loving spirit.

Babe Ruth is the definition of a gentle love bug. He adores being close to his people, whether that's curling up for snuggles, resting his head on your lap, or quietly following you around the house just to be near you. With that sweet face and gentle spirit, he radiates calmness, which rescue volunteers have found it calms them. He is a gem with kids! Currently he is in foster care and has a little girl living with him that he enjoys tea parties with her and playing dress up!

He would do best in a home that can continue showing him kindness, stability, and love... someone to show how bright his future. Babe Ruth doesn't ask for much... just a soft place to land, a family to call his own, and someone to love him the way he's always deserved.

If you're looking for a loyal companion with a heart as big as his name, Babe Ruth is ready to hit a home run straight into your family.

He is:
- Fully vaccinated, microchipped, & neutered
- Kennel & potty trained
- Dog friendly & Kid friendly
- located in Chambersburg, Pa

Want to meet this sweetheart? Sunnyside Street Dogs's Adoption Policy
Application is received and reviewed. References will be checked. A home visit in person or on face time will be completed at a mutually convenient time. After the adoption fee paid and contract(s) signed, the dog or puppy can be picked up or transported. Transportation is included in the adoption fee if you live outside of Texas. The availability of the transport company, foster or volunteer transporter, and adopter will determine when the dog unites with their new forever person/people. Pets going on transport will have a health certificate completed by a veterinarian declaring the pet healthy for transport. Read more on transport below. If a dog/puppy goes to their forever home without being spayed or neutered, the adopter needs to sign a sterilization contract - promising they will get their dog/puppy spayed or neutered. Listed breed and age are based on a best guess estimation by rescue and veterinary staff; DNA tests are not included in adoption. If a dog is adopted out of state, they will arrive to their destination via ground transport, unless the adopter will pick up. We coordinate with multiple transport services that operate weekly to Eastern states and bi-weekly or monthly to Western states from Texas to your state or a neighboring state. These are ground transports using third party vehicles (vans/buses) converted for dog transport. Each adopter has the ability to track the van using the app Life360, and receives updates from transport along the way. Facebook chats are another resource to stay informed on tracking dogs on transport. Please be able to use one of these available services if you wish to follow your adopted dog on transport.
