AZZA's Story

Meet Azza -

Azza and Julie are a bonded pair whose world was turned upside down after their owner sadly passed away. Through all the change and uncertainty, one thing never changed, these two have had each other. Azza is an altered male, roughly 3 years old, with a fun-loving personality and a loyal heart. Julie is an altered 8-year-old female who brings a calm, comforting presence wherever she goes. Together, they balance each other perfectly.

These best buds have been together for the last 3 years and are truly happiest side by side. Whether they’re relaxing together, exploring together, or simply keeping each other company, their bond is impossible to miss.

After losing the person they loved, Azza and Julie deserve a fresh start filled with stability, kindness, and a family willing to keep them together. Watching them interact is a reminder that sometimes the best comfort in difficult times is simply having your best friend nearby.

If you’ve ever considered opening your heart to two dogs instead of one, Azza and Julie may be the perfect pair for you.

Chester County Animal Shelter's Adoption Policy
Chester County Animal Control is a high-intake shelter located in Chester, committed to finding safe, loving homes for the dogs and cats in our care. As a rural shelter serving a large intake population, we work diligently to create positive outcomes for every adoptable animal through active networking, community outreach, and partnerships with rescue organizations that help expand placement opportunities. Our adoption program is designed to support both animals and adopters by encouraging thoughtful, successful matches. We take time to connect with potential adopters to better understand their lifestyle, household, experience, and what they are looking for in a companion animal. Based on that conversation, we share recommendations to help identify the best fit for both the adopter and the pet. This process helps improve long-term success and reduces the likelihood of an animal being returned during the adjustment period. Benefits of adopting through Chester County Animal Control include: • Staycation Program – After selecting your “furever” pet, adopters may take the animal home for a 10-day trial period to ensure the pet adjusts well to the home, family members, and other animals. • Peace of Mind – All adoptable animals receive initial age-appropriate vaccinations, including rabies when required. • Essential Veterinary Care – Animals are spayed or neutered and microchipped prior to adoption whenever possible. • Behavior and Health Review – Each animal’s physical condition and temperament are assessed to help support informed adoption decisions. Our goal is to create lasting placements that benefit both pets and families while giving every adoptable animal the best opportunity for a successful future.
