This sweet-natured and friendly 33 lb guy named "Axl" suddenly finds himself in need of a second family to love. About 5 years ago he was rescued as a puppy along with 2 siblings from some very rough living conditions. When he received his routine veterinary exam, Axl was found to have a potentially lethal congenital heart defect called Patent Ductus Arteriosus (PDA). This was happily and completely corrected by surgery at Texas A&M and Axl's been living a perfectly healthy life ever since. However, the family who adopted him as a puppy could no longer keep him due to personal circumstances, so they sadly returned him to our rescue group. <br/><br/>Axl has invented several cute tricks such as carrying his leash in his mouth on walks and learned some basic obedience commands. One of his favorite play friends was a cat who lived in the same home, and he gets along with other dogs as long as they aren't "over the top" behavior-wise.
