Axel's Story
Axel is a handsome jumbo dude with a nice personality, probably not quite 2 years old. He will need a new home off base because Rotties are not allowed to live on base.
We're still getting to know him because he came to us as a stray and no one's been looking for him. He walks well on leash. Axel will "sit" for a treat and he has a gentle mouth when taking the treats from you. He came in wearing a harness embroidered with "Best Friend" so he's been somebody's best buddy! We'll provide more info as we get to know him, and you can always call for more info and/or to make an appointment to meet him and spend time in the play yard getting acquainted.
He is, of course, a really big boy and will eat a lot. If you think bigger is better, and if your family is big-dog savvy, then maybe he's a match for you. Want to meet him? Give us a call and we will set up a meet-and-greet. He'd like that.

The public is welcome to come adopt the patriotic pets at the Camp Pendleton Animal Shelter! Even if you don't have normal, regular access to the base, please DO give us a call and we will work with you to set up a meeting. 760-725-8120

All dogs are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, flea-treated, and micro-chipped prior to adoption. Call ahead to schedule a meet-and greet! Adoption Fee: $50.
