Available - Blue's Story

Socialization: Blue is absolutely wonderful with people being a typical puppy. He hasn't met a person he doesn't love. He's also great with the other dogs he's been introduced to and wants to play! Cats are an unknown, but his prey drive is kicking in.

Training: Blue is potty-trained and knows "Sit." He needs to work on not jumping and I recently saw him counter-surf for the first time.

Crate trained: Yes, Blue is crate trained. He stays in the crate when I'm out of the house or most nights. He's also gone into the crate to rest when he gets tired. If your home is puppy-proofed, he could be trusted alone.

Leash trained: Blue walks well on a leash, but can pull a little. He generally ignores other dogs on walks but will notice a squirrel or rabbit.

Activity level/requirements:Blue loves to run and play. I have a fenced in yard where he can get the zoomies out, but a daily walk really calms his energy. Once he gets the chance to play, he likes to climb in a chair and sleep.

Fence requirements: I recommend a fenced in yard for Blue. He does well off leash in a yard away from traffic, but anything close to traffic and I wouldn't be so sure. He hasn't tried to jump any fences.

Personality: Blue is all puppy but one of the sweetest boys you'll meet. He loves to cuddle and doesn't know the definition of personal space which can only make you smile and laugh. He likes to be with his people but also likes to sit and look out the window to see what's going on outside. At this point, he's not much of a barker or noise maker - I think he's barked less than 5 times in two months!

Health history: UTD on vaccinations, he's on an annual heartworm prevention med. He'll be chipped by adoption. Not neutered yet.

Blue has had some ongoing stomach issues which require a fiber supplement. The cost is about $30 for a 90 day supply.

Foster comments: Blue is absolutely amazing and if I could keep him myself, I would. Blue would do well in a home with children and/or another dog because he loves to play and interact. When he cuddles, he flops his head down and it's the sweetest thing you'll see.

Foster Location: Liverpool, NY

Volunteer transport can be arranged in the Continental US within a 1,000-mile distance between adopters & foster home. If interstate transport is provided for your adopted dog, there will be an additional charge of $75.00 for the required Certificate of Veterinary Inspection (CVI). Typically, we are able to transport your adopted dog to within 2 hours of your home. *Dogs can be adopted outside the 1000-mile transport distance; however, adopters must be willing to either fly their adopted dog, drive to a location within the 1000-mile transport range, or make independent transport arrangements for their adopted dog. Transports to far Western states, from Eastern states, may have additional restrictions.
