Auggie's Story
Auggie, at a perfect small/medium 27 lbs (the perfect portable size to go everywhere a great little dog is welcome) and 1 year old is such a great age, old enough to be beyond babyish behaviors and young enough to have many, many active and healthy years ahead. He is believed to be a Cattle Dog / Jack Russel mix, although his breed is just an (educated) guess by the shelter vets. We do not DNA test rescue dogs so do not know for sure.

Auggie has an adorable nub tail and the absolute friendliest, sweetest personality! Auggie knows no stranger, he seriously greets new people like they're his long lost friend. (It's very cute!). On leash or in the house, he loves new people... but be warned that he does like to give big kisses when he says hello!

Auggie also absolutely loves other dogs and loves to play. We would consider him a medium - high energy dog, and he would love a home with another playful dog or just with an active family who wants a sweet, small/medium, friendly dog to hike and adventure with.

We really cannot stress enough what a great dog Auggie is! It's not every day we get rescue dogs who are total happy, social butterflies!!

Auggie's story is all too common. He was found as a stray in Houston, Texas, and brought into a horrible, high-kill shelter. However, luck was with sweet Auggie. He was saved from the shelter due to his extremely friendly personality (and good looks!)

Farfel's isn't open to a home where everyone spends their days working full-time outside of the home. Retirees or a younger family that works from a home-based office would be a far better choice for our wonderful pup. He's a sensitive little guy and we'd like him to get more time and attention than is possible with that lifestyle.

Auggie is up to date on his vetting/vaccinations to be in line with our commitment to adopting out only healthy dogs. He is also neutered to stay true to Farfel's work to eradicate euthanasia due to overpopulation in the canine population.

Auggie is available for adoption now! Applications are currently being accepted for this very loving, sweet and loyal best friend. An application can be found at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/. If interested, please fill out completely and submit.

**PLEASE NOTE** If you're truly interested in adopting Auggie, please be sure to fill out our Farfel's Rescue adoption application found at the link above or at farfels.com. Adoption site applications such as Petfinder and Adoptapet don't provide enough information and therefore aren't useful. Our Farfel's application is the only initial tool that we have to determine a great match for this very deserving dog. We're sorry, but in many cases, we're unable to get back to those that don't submit our Farfel's Rescue adoption application. Thanks very much for choosing rescue.
