ATHENA- Needs a forever home! Labrador Retriever & Terrier Mix Birmingham, MI

Beautiful Athena is a 3 year old Lab & Terrier mix She weighs approx 58#. Athena came to the rescue from a hording situation. She is shy when meeting new people but will warm up quickly. In her foster home she has become more confident. Athena is now confident when going on walk, but does not like to meet up with big aggressive dogs. She is a happy, playful and loves to give hugs. Athena likes a lot of attention. She plays well with other dogs in her foster home though and will often go off on her own to do her own thing. She loves affection and gives affection back to let you know she is happy. Athena is not a petite dog, she is a bit of a "tomboy" so you have to be ready for her "style". Athena is a smart dog, knows some commands and eager to learn more. May be good with nondominant dogs after a very slow introduction. Unknown with cats. She would make a great companion dog. Children 10 years old or older. Her forever home is required to have a totally enclosed physically fenced yard. Athena is spayed, up to date on her vaccinations, on monthly heartworm preventative as well as house and crate trained. Athena cannot wait to become a member of a very loving family who will take her on adventures, love her and treat her like a queen!!

All dogs we rescue stay with us until they find their forever homes. A home visit is required to ensure our dogs go to a safe environment and our dog gets along with your dog(s) and/or cat(s). We require all our dogs 1 year and older to attend 1 obedience class (class is a 6 week session) outside the home. You must live within 1 hour of Birmingham, MI to adopt one of our dogs. No out of state or outside the U.S. adoptions or fosters. Athena's adoption fee is $300.
