This dog is being fostered with New Hope Dog Rescue (Saskatoon). If you are interested in adopting please fill out an Adoption Application. Meet and greets are by appointment only and done so after an adoption application has been submitted. A successful applications will be contacted by the foster home to discuss further. We are volunteer run so please be patient.

Meet your future best friend! Athena is wildly smart and incredibly motivated to learn and please. She is very food motivated so training with healthy treats is simple and fun! As much as she loves her treats, she has never had an issue with us taking her food, bones, or toys while eating or playing. She LOVES the three small humans in the house. She is very watchful of them and gets a little concerned when they go outside or when playing at the park and she loses eye sight of them. Her leash walking has improved so much in the short time we have had her. While we do have a cat in the house, it would be best for her to go to a home without cats.

Athena LOVES to run. She accompanies me on my runs as well as when we go rollerblading. Going fast for a while on the rollerblades is one of her favourite things! She has never had an accident in the house or chewed anything. She is fully crate trained, sleeping in there through the night as well as anytime we leave the house. She does well in the car travelling, too!

We had Athena at the farm for the day and she did so great. She explored and stayed near the boys. When she got too far away, we called her and she came back to check in with us and let us know she was still around.

Athena does have a congenital eye disease called Pannus, which requires an eye ointment to be applied daily right now. This is a lifelong thing to watch, however, with careful monitoring and treatment, progression can be halted. We have worked very hard with her and she sits very well while we apply the ointment and continues to get better daily.

Athena is an absolute dream dog. Her friendly and kind personality and willingness to learn makes having her around so lovely. Training with her is fun and enjoyable. She lays comfortably in any room her humans have settled, like the office while working or the sitting room watching TV. She is loyal and affectionate and will be your absolute best friend for life. Please consider adopting this gorgeous and amazing dog!

Athena has been spayed, microchipped, dewormed, current on age appropriate vaccines and has received a health check from a vet. adoption fee is $295.
