Meet Athena! At approximately 2 years old and 37 pounds, Athena is a petite husky packed with a whole lot of personality. She is spayed, heartworm negative, up-to-date on vaccines, potty trained, and ready for her forever home.<br/><br/>Athena is everything youd expect from a husky: smart, funny, opinionated, and full of love. She firmly believes shes a lap dog, has zero concept of personal space, and wants to be involved in absolutely everything youre doing. She doesnt walk into a roomshe bursts into it, often pushing doors open (and occasionally people) along the way.<br/><br/>Shes kennel trained, but a sturdy kennel is recommended because Athena enjoys testing the limits of wire crates whenever shes feeling adventurous. Huskies gonna husky.<br/><br/>Athena is dog-friendly and generally prefers dogs her size or smaller. She did well with a calm senior Labrador after slow introductions and would thrive with respectful canine companions who dont come on too strong.<br/><br/>When it comes to food, Athena is a bit of a diva. She prefers one large meal a day, plenty of treats, and has perfected the art of eating the good stuff while leaving the kibble behind. Shes equally particular about her water. Bowls are acceptable. Buckets are not. In fact, Athena once got her head stuck in a water jug because she refused to drink from a bucket. Message received, Athena.<br/><br/>Athena is also a committed furniture enthusiast. She loves hopping from couch to couch and finding the best seat in the house. If dogs arent allowed on your furniture, Athena would like to respectfully pass on your application.<br/><br/>Athena wandered up to a kind family who took her in rather than leaving her to survive on the streets. She quickly bonded with their teenage children and showed everyone what a loving, affectionate girl she is. When she arrived, she had fly damage on the tips of her ears and an untreated eye infection, both reminders that life hadnt always been kind to her.
