Athena's Story

This is Athena. Athena is a little over 2 years old and almost like a fun-sized shepherd mix.

She’s had a rough beginning as she was picked up as a stray in Mexico, along with her sister. They came to us extremely scared of everything and have come a long way since being with us. While her sister got adopted shortly after, Athena got left behind still looking for her forever family.

She is one of our special girls where her forever family needs to be really patient with her as she learns to get comfortable with you. She is still very shy and we suggest a home with no kids and a female-only household. Athena would benefit best from having an outgoing, friendly dog in the house for her to follow (she used to look to her sister for direction). She loves playing with toys and walks well on a leash.

If you are looking for a sweet girl who just needs some love and someone with patience, please fill out an application:
https://www.muttsinneed.org/adoption-application.html
