Astrid is a beautiful 6-year-old spayed female Golden Retriever/Shepherd mix with a gentle soul and so much love to give. This sweet girl is the definition of a people dog and wants nothing more than to be near her humans as much as possible. She absolutely thrives on love, attention, and companionship, and will happily follow you from room to room just to be close to you.<br/><br/>Astrid previously lived with two young children and a teenager, and she bonded very closely with them. She has a gentle, affectionate personality and truly enjoys being part of the family. Whether it's going for a nice walk, relaxing in the yard, or showing off her manners with a perfect "sit" and "stay," Astrid is happiest when she's by your side.<br/><br/>She absolutely loves going on walks and is wonderful on a leash, making her an easy companion for strolls around the neighborhood or relaxing outdoor adventures. Food is definitely the way to Astrid's heart, and treats are a great motivator as she continues building confidence and learning new things.<br/><br/>Astrid would do best in a house with a fenced-in backyard where she can safely enjoy the outdoors and settle into a calm routine. She does need to be the only animal in the home so she can feel comfortable and secure. She would also benefit from continued socialization and training to help her continue blossoming into the amazing companion we know she can be.<br/><br/>Astrid should be kenneled when left alone, as she has a tendency to chew on things if given free roam while unsupervised.
