Aspen Australian Cattle Dog / Blue Heeler & Australian Shepherd Mix Layton, UT

Seasons are changing, and Aspen is ready!!! This cute girl is happiest going on field trips and she is looking for that special family who will let her tag along in all your adventures!

Aspen is a goofy, energetic, 55-60lb 2.5 year old Aussie/cattle dog/husky/malamute mix who is looking for a new family. She is house trained and knows basic commands, and is smart and easily trainable because she is very treat motivated! She loves the outdoors and is excellent off-leash, with great recall. Her leash walking could use a little work, mostly because she is very excitable. She has been working on some training around anxiety/excitability, which her new owner will need to continue to work on (for example, she gets over-excited when she sees people or dogs walking by the house). She makes a good jogging partner and loves to be outside! She was crate trained as a puppy, but hasn’t used a crate in a while.

She loves all humans, but can sometimes take a little bit of time to warm up to new people. Once she gets to know you, she will happily lick your face and be very excited to get attention!
She’s known to be great with babies and very young children; she hasn’t been around older kids very much yet but we expect she will do great as long as he kids are respectful!

Aspen is looking for a loving home that will give her plenty of exercise since she’s relatively energetic and loves to play!

She will likely need to be the only dog in the home. She gets along well with other dogs in general, but has had some jealousy issues directed at the other dog in her current home, which is why she is looking for a new place to live.
