Asparagus's Story
Asparagus, or Gus for short, is a 3-year-old male Australian Shepherd/Collie mix with a heart as big as his personality. Known as our little one-eyed wonder, Gus was born missing his right eye—but don’t let that fool you. It doesn’t slow him down or affect his quality of life one bit!

Gus came into our care through no fault of his own and was quite shy at first, but he has truly blossomed. Once he knows he’s safe, his sweet, gentle nature shines through. He absolutely loves people and attention and wants nothing more than to be wherever his humans are. If he can, he’ll happily climb into your lap; if not, he’ll settle right at your feet until you move—at which point he’ll be right there beside you again.

He’s wonderfully in tune with his surroundings: when you’re active, Gus is ready to go, and when it’s time to relax, he’s content to lounge with you. He enjoys chewing on bones, plays well with other dogs once he’s comfortable, and gets along nicely with dogs of all sizes. He’s currently a bit afraid of cats, which leads us to believe he’d likely do just fine coexisting with one. Gus also does well with kids.

This handsome boy is fully potty-trained and crate-trained and would thrive in just about any home looking to welcome a loyal, loving companion. If you’re searching for a beautiful, sweet soul who will stick by your side through it all, Gus might just be your perfect match.

If you’re interested in adopting, please fill out our application, and someone will be in touch with you shortly!
https://animalwelfarefriends.org/adopt/application/
