Meet Asher, the sweet and gentle puppy who is ready to find his forever home! This little guy may be quiet, but he has a big heart and a bright mind. With his calm and collected demeanor, he takes in the world around him, always curious and eager to learn. Asher is a snuggly and affectionate soul who loves nothing more than a good cuddle. He's the perfect companion for quiet moments and peaceful walks. While he may be a bit shy at first, he warms up quickly and will be your loyal friend for life. This pup is a true gentleman, always polite and respectful, and will bring a sense of calm and joy to your world. Asher is looking for a family that will shower him with love and patience as he grows and discovers new things. If you're searching for a loving and intelligent furry friend to add to your family, Asher might just be the perfect match. Come meet this wonderful puppy today and let him steal your heart!

Note from surrendering family member:

Asher is a very good boy. He has grown so much in the last 8 weeks that I have fostered him. He was originally my sister's puppy that she purchased for Christmas. But when he arrived he was withdrawn and timid. My sister was unable to figure out how to help him settle and become a member of the family. He spent most of his time at her house hiding under the bed, eating in secret and stealing socks and shirts from her son's room. :) She would have to drag him outside for walks. He almost seemed to not have any experience being a dog. So my mom offered to adopt him. My mom had to wait for her apartment to be ready and I agreed that Asher could live with my family and 2 small dogs in the meantime. It was supposed to be about 1 month. In my home, Asher immediately and clearly loved being with other dogs! And loved our small yard. It took him a little over a week to stop hiding. I closed his crate during the day so he had to be out and around the house with the family and other dogs. Everything startled him, footsteps, small noises, his metal dog food bowl moving across the kitchen floor. But slowly he got more and more used to it all. He learned to eat in the kitchen with my dogs. He learned to go out and come in with the other dogs. He learned to relax on the couch with the family. He learned to play with the cat. (Although sometimes the dogs chase the cat and I am teaching him to "leave it") He plays with toys now. He plays tug of war with my dogs. He loves hard chew toys like Nyla bones. (He will chew anything plastic, the handle on our recliner, the clip on his crate etc. ) He is a generally happy boy who has learned that he enjoys being social! He will come stand next to my chair and wait for my hand so he can place his chin in it. He loves to have his face and chin be petted. (He likes to be told that he is a pretty boy.) He has even improved walking on a leash! He is still not sure about new noises or sudden surprises but he does better everyday. He just needed exposure and patience to figure this new world out. He loves our small yard and my dogs. He is happiest with us all together. Asher was much fluffier in the early winter. But we had a period of warm weather and he shed his coat quickly, and all over my house. lol. Honestly if I could keep him, I would. But we do not have the home or the means for 3 dogs. My mom is in a wheelchair and when we tried to move him to her apartment he got spooked and pulled her out of her wheelchair and wrapped his leash around a tree. She is not able to safely care for him. And my sister is not able to take him back. It is best for Asher if we let him find a permanent home elsewhere. Which is why we collectively made the decision to surrender him to Saving Shibas. I KNOW that he will be a great dog with his forever family! He is still cautious around new people, while walking on a leash around cars and buildings and around UPS packages! But given a little time and patience, Asher is going to be a great family dog! We will be praying for him and his new family.
