When we arrived to rescue the other dog, Ash made one thing very clear - he wasnt about to be left behind. Every time we tried to load his buddy into the car, Ash would step right in front of us like he was saying, If he goes, I go.

So of course... he came too. And honestly, we cant imagine leaving him behind.

Since coming into our care, Ash has proven to be something truly special. After his best friend was adopted, Ash moved into a home environment where he could begin heartworm treatment and thats when we really got to know him.

In a house full of dogs (and after hundreds of fosters), Ash stands out as one of the easiest, most naturally well-behaved dogs weve ever had.

He is:

incredibly sweet and affectionate (hence the nickname Lover Boy, given by one of our rescue partners)

gentle and a little sensitive

great with other dogs

friendly with everyone he meets

calm, smart, and eager to please

Ash settles into home life beautifully. He doesnt ask for much: just a soft place to land, kind people, and someone to love.

He recently finished undergoing treatment for heartworms and he is already on the path to being a healthy, happy dog with a long future ahead of him.

After everything hes been through - years on the streets, losing his best friend, and going through treatment, Ash is more than ready for his own forever home.

If youre looking for a loyal, low-maintenance, genuinely good to the bone dog... Ash might just be your perfect match.

Neck size (for collar): 16

Chest circumference: 28

Height (from top of head): 23

Length (from nose to base of tail): 32

Crate size recommended: 36-42

Medical Notes: Treated for heartworm

Good with Women: Yes

Good with Men: Yes

Good with Kids: Yes

Good with Dogs: Yes

Good with Cats: He avoided the cat when tested

House trained: Yes

Crate trained:

Can be touched/handled: Yes

Energy level: Low-medium

Barker: No

Flight risk: No; however, all dogs should be considered flight risks in new environments

Food aggressive: All dogs are separated when feeding.
