ARTIE's Story

Meet Artie, a 2-year-old male Shih Tzu with a big personality packed into a little body! At first, Artie can come across as a bit bossy and cheeky—but don’t let that fool you. Give him about an hour and you’ll see his walls come down as he quickly decides you’re his person. Before you know it, he’s your shadow and your new best friend.

Artie came from a hoarding/breeding situation, so new environments can feel a little overwhelming at first. He just needs a day or two to settle in, decompress, and learn that he’s safe. Once he does, his true self shines—an affectionate, loyal little guy who wants nothing more than to be by your side. After that adjustment period, he fully embraces his role as a lap dog and will happily soak up all the love and attention you have to give.

Potty training is still a work in progress, but Artie is a smart cookie and making progress with consistency and patience. He gets along well with other dogs and even enjoys a bit of playtime, showing off his silly and fun-loving side.

Artie would do best with someone who understands that he may need a little time to adjust, but the payoff is a devoted companion who will stick by you through it all. If you’re a Shih Tzu lover looking for a dog with personality, charm, and a whole lot of love to give, Artie just might be your perfect match.

Adoption fee includes neuter, microchip, vaccinations.
