Artemis NOT AN LELRR DOG--COURTESY POST--NO APP REQUIRED's Story

Hi, I'm Artemis. I was born on October 31st, 2025 — yes, Halloween. I've been told that makes me a little spooky, but mostly I just think it means I get extra treats on my birthday.

I'm a 9-month-old Golden/Labrador Retriever mix (we have the DNA papers and everything), and I currently weigh 74.3 pounds. My vet says I'm still growing and may end up close or even over 100 pounds.

I currently live in the Youngstown, OH area and my family has recently had a change in work schedules. After trying for awhile, they feel sad that they can't give me the time and exercise that I need. They love me very much, in fact, they love me so much that they want a home for me where I can get the attention, exercise and family time that I deserve.

I am, as the humans like to say, a big girl. I don't really understand what that means yet, but I do know that when I get excited and bounce around, sometimes my paws accidentally scratch people. I promise I'm not trying to be rude — I just forget how big I'm getting. I have a lot of energy. Like... a lot. My favorite things in the whole world are: Lamb (best food ever) Dehydrated duck tendons (I will do almost anything for these) Chewing on bones and antlers.

I'm also a complete snow dog. When it starts falling, I turn into a different creature. I zoom, I dig, I roll, and sometimes I pretend I cant hear anyone calling me to come back inside. Cold weather is my personality. I've met lots of people and I love them. Animals are a little more complicated. I've had limited exposure to other dogs so far, and the results have been... mixed. Sometimes its great, sometimes its confusing, and I'm still figuring it out. Cats I can handle, but dogs are still a work in progress.

I'm spayed, microchipped, and ready for whatever comes next — as long as there's snow, something to chew, and someone who doesn't mind a slightly oversized, slightly clumsy, very affectionate puppy who still thinks she's smaller than she is.

If you're interested in learning more about me, contact my dad, Ramon Vargas, at rvargas8384@gmail.com or 774-263-9210.

You do NOT need to fill out an application for me as I am not an LELRR dog. In lieu of an adoption fee, my family is asking that a donation be made to LELRR in my name. But what's MOST important is that I find my forever home!
