Artemis's Story
Did you know that blue whale calves can weigh 3 tons at birth and be over 27 feet long? That makes them the biggest babies in the animal kingdom!

Aside from Artemis. Artemis is the second biggest baby in the animal kingdom.

Despite weighing 67lbs and being on the larger side, Artemis is convinced that the entire world is an elaborate trap. We don't blame her - she didn't come from the best environment so it's all learned behavior, unfortunately. However, now that we've had her for almost a month, she's slowly gaining some much-needed confidence and starting to learn that the world isn't always terrifying. (Phones ARE always terrifying.)

Artemis is about 2y6mo and she's some sort of boxer/cane corso combo. Really, she's like 70% drool and 30% weird toes.

A shy baby at first, once you prove that you are not, in fact, a villain, she turns into an absolute WIGGLE WORM. She does NOT know how to sit still. If that tail wags, her entire body wags with it. She's full grown but still has puppy energy and always loves a good jog/romp in the agility course. She's a counter surfer so crating her while she's alone would be a good idea until she gets the hang of her basic manners.

Artemis would do best as the only animal in the home. She is terrified of other dogs. While she has the ability to walk by them and completely ignore them, if she's in close quarters with them, she's convinced they're going to come after her so she'll bark her wonky head off and get pretty defensive. HOWEVER, she is VERY responsive to corrections and distractions. Outside of the kennels? She's totally fine, couldn't care less, will mind her business as long as they mind theirs. Inside the kennels? Convinced they're going to eat her. We're working with her, we have trainers working with her, but it will be something that a future adopter will need to be consistent with.

If you've got room for the biggest, most awkward princess in all the land...here you go. She's hilarious, she's goofy...she's just not very photogenic.

To apply, visit foreverpaws.com and click adopt to download our application.
