We do need the entire party to be involved when meeting available dogs, including every family member and dog(s) that currently live in your home.

Meet Mick, a charming 5-year-old bi-black male with an easygoing personality and a heart full of quiet devotion.

Mick is the kind of dog who settles into your life effortlessly—house-trained, crate-trained, and non-destructive. He’s a low-energy, low-maintenance companion who’s perfectly content to lounge nearby while you work, making him an ideal match for a calm household or someone who works from home.

Mick is as polite as they come. He’s non-reactive when people are working in the yard or stopping by the door, and he’s great with children. During the day, he’s quiet and relaxed, happy just being near his people. He doesn’t jump on furniture and respects household boundaries, adding to his easy-to-live-with nature.

While Mick is generally laid-back, he does have a playful and affectionate side. When he’s especially happy, he’ll grab a stuffed animal and proudly carry it around to show you—his sweet way of sharing joy. He loves car rides and walks, and though he can get a bit excited when he sees other dogs on leash, he’s overall dog-friendly. He’s successfully stayed in three different foster homes while his foster family traveled —each with another male dog—and did well in every setting, though some dogs may require a slower introduction.

Mick thrives on companionship and truly loves being around his people. He may feel a little sad when you leave, but a short 15-minute walk beforehand helps him settle in comfortably. He also experiences mild storm anxiety, so a little reassurance during bad weather goes a long way.

He’s not an escape artist, but if given the chance, he might take himself on a casual neighborhood stroll—so a secure yard or attentive supervision is important.

If you’re looking for a gentle, loyal companion who will quietly keep you company and brighten your day with small, sweet gestures, Mick may be your perfect match.
