He’s a total sweetheart with a big heart and an even bigger love for the great outdoors. Whether it’s hiking trails or exploring new places, Arnold is always up for the ride. <br/><br/>He loves squeaky toys (the louder, the better!) and soaks up all the attention he can get. After a fun day of outdoor adventures, Arnold is happiest curling up beside you on the couch, ready to relax and soak up some snuggles. <br/><br/>Arnold is good with other dogs but needs a cat-free home. <br/><br/>If you’re looking for a loyal companion who’s always ready to join you on your next adventure — and your next nap — Arnold is your guy!<br/><br/>Arnold is a 1-year-old American Bulldog/Pointer mix and weighs 63 lbs. <br/><br/>Sadly, Arnold tested positive for heartworms. But please don’t let this scare you away! We just need to get him into a home during his treatment. The cost for the heartworm treatment is completely covered. We can provide you with more info about his heartworm treatment if you are interested in adopting or fostering him (we’d love to find him a foster home!). Once his treatment plan is completed, Arnold will be able to live a normal healthy life with no restrictions!<br/><br/><br/>ADOPTING A PET<br/>We are open for meet and greet adoptions at our shelter on weekends. No appointment is necessary for weekend adoptions. Our weekend hours vary and we also have satellite adoption events every weekend. Please contact us by phone at 913-321-1445 or by email at petadoptions@kckpd.org to schedule your appointment during weekdays.<br/><br/>If you have a dog or children we ask that you bring them with you to meet our dogs to make sure it is a good match.<br/><br/>Our dogs have been spayed or neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, microchipped and tested for heartworms (if 7 months or older).<br/><br/>FOSTERING<br/>Can't commit to adoption but still want to help us save lives? Consider fostering by filling out our foster application at https://www.kckpd.org/Animal-Services/Foster-a-Pet. All supplies are provided.
