Arlo's Story

? *Meet Arlo!* ?

This sweet boy is a lovable Shepherd, Boxer, Great Dane mix who will be turning 2 years old in February! Arlo is the perfect balance of playful and cuddly — he enjoys spending time outdoors but is just as happy curling up beside you on the couch, watching the rain fall.

Arlo absolutely adores children and other dogs and would thrive in a home where he can play and be part of the action. However, he’s not a match for cats, chickens, horses, or other small animals — dogs only, please!

Because of a tough start to life, Arlo gets nervous if someone grabs his collar or if he’s placed in a cage. He’s done wonderfully being housed in a crate and is a very good boy in the home — no furniture chewing, though he might grab a shoe to greet you when you walk through the door (his love language is footwear ).

Arlo respects an electric fence and enjoys running around and playing freely. He’s still learning to walk politely on leash, as he’s used to roaming and chasing the kids around the yard, but he does well with a gentle leader.

This snuggly sweetheart used to be on medication (trazodone and gabapentin) but has since been weaned off and only needs a small dose for nail trims now.

Arlo is loyal, affectionate, and loves to be close to his people. He barks to alert when someone’s at the door but is respectful outdoors and comes when called — even if another dog walks by!
He’s still young and learning, but with patience, consistency, and love, Arlo will continue to blossom into the amazing companion he’s meant to be.

*Ideal Home:*

* A home with another friendly dog and kids to play with
* No cats, chickens, horses, or small animals
* A large fenced yard
* A family willing to give him patience, love, and structure

If you’re ready for endless cuddles, loyalty, and a best friend who will love you unconditionally, Arlo might just be your perfect match.

Apply to adopt Arlo today and give this sweet boy the forever home he deserves!

Arlo is vaccinated, microchipped, has his flea, tick & heartworm prevention, is sterilized and will come with his medical booklet.
Sometimes a dog takes a little more time to open up, you may see them showing more and more of their personality over the course of the first few days, weeks or even months! We don’t know all that they’ve been through before they were rescued, but they are so forgiving and full of love and it’s worth every tough moment in the end. Developing a trusting relationship with your rescue dog is the most important thing. Stability, patience, positive reinforcement and love are the most important things!

? Voici Arlo! ?
