Ariel's Story

Meet Ariel!

If you're looking for the perfect mix of playful puppy and cuddle bug, Ariel is ready to steal your heart! This sweet girl is about 3 months old and is believed to be a German Shepherd mix. While we don't know exactly how big she'll be, she's growing quickly and will likely be around German Shepherd size when she's all grown up.

Ariel has adjusted beautifully to life in her foster home. She absolutely loves playing with the resident dogs and has gained so much confidence by following their lead. She's also spent time with cats and even a bunny! Ariel was curious and playful with the cats and has done well respecting boundaries with the bunny, making her a great candidate for a home with other furry family members.

This smart little pup is eager to learn and loves making her people proud. She learned "sit" within minutes, walks on a leash like a pro, and is doing wonderfully with recall—especially when treats are involved! Ariel is fully crate trained, sleeps quietly through the night, and is almost completely potty trained. Like any young puppy, she occasionally gets so caught up in playtime that she forgets she needs a potty break, but she's learning quickly and understands her potty routine.

Ariel is incredibly affectionate and loves being close to her people. While she can be a little shy when meeting new people at first, she warms up quickly and has been thriving with socialization. Everywhere she goes, people stop to say hello—and she happily accepts the extra attention! She's done wonderfully with children and will gladly roll over for belly rubs from her youngest admirers.

Ariel has come such a long way in a short time and continues to impress everyone she meets with her sweet nature, intelligence, and loving personality. Whether she's romping around with her dog friends or snuggled up next to you on the couch, she's happiest just being part of the family.

If you're looking for an affectionate, intelligent puppy that loves to play just as much as she loves to cuddle, Ariel may be the perfect addition to your home!

Our standard adoption fee is $465. We offer a $15 discount for adopters who pay by cash or check, making the adoption fee $450.

The adoption fee includes spay/neuter when age appropriate at one of our participating veterinarians, age-appropriate core vaccinations, fecal test, deworming, current on flea and tick preventative, and microchip.

To ensure the best match for both our dogs and adopters, we require a fully completed adoption application, a phone interview, and a meet-and-greet with the entire household. Applications will not be reviewed unless fully completed.

Submitting an application does not guarantee adoption and does not obligate you to adopt; it simply allows us to begin the review process.

To request an application or for additional details, please email adopt@safehavendogsIL.org

Please note that the breeds and sizes posted in this biography are educated best guesses and are not guaranteed.

Safe Haven Dog Rescue reserves the right to approve or decline any adoption application based on the best interest of the dog.
