Ariel's Story

Meet Ariel!

Ariel is a beautiful red tri Aussie with a nub tail and piercing blue eyes. Her pretty red coat is how she got her name! She is about 3 years old, 56 pounds, spayed and up to date on her vaccines. She is crate trained, house trained, great on a leash and an excellent passenger in the car! Ariel came to us from a shelter partner as an unclaimed stray.

Ariel is a bit shy when she meets new people, especially men, but she is extraordinarily loving and very cuddly once she warms up—loves pets and scratches! She likes walks but can get overwhelmed in loud, busy areas. She really enjoys the company of other dogs but is mostly a peaceful coexister and doesn’t engage much in play. She hasn’t shown much interest in toys yet either. But with time and patience, hopefully she will learn more about play! She would do well with another confident dog in the home to help show her the ropes. She hasn’t been exposed to cats but has a low prey drive and would probably be ok with them. She is not a typical high energy Aussie and is most content to just be close to her people.

Ariel is a quiet girl looking for a calm home where her forever family can continue teaching her that it’s ok to trust. A suburban home is probably best for Ariel. She can clear a fence and will flee if scared so needs someone really committed to helping her feel safe and secure in her home. If you are the perfect home for this sweet, special girl, apply today! Or if you are an approved adopter, contact the volunteer with whom you’ve been working.
