Aria's Story

Hi, I'm Aria, a 12-pound, 8-year-old, long-haired Chihuahua/Yorkshire Terrier girl with a sweet song in my heart! I'm not only a beauty (so I'm told), but I'm playful and cuddly, too. Don't let my age fool you, I still love toys and walks and have great energy! I'm looking for a home that has room for a pup who loves food, fun, and affection.

Favorite Things: Aria loves to play with squeaky toys – and the squeak is more than half the fun! She also enjoys chew toys and a good game of fetch. Though she has her busy times, Aria also enjoys a cuddle on the couch. She is happiest in her person's lap and even happier if there's a belly rub involved. This little girl loves food, too, and has fun with food puzzles and games. My not-so-favorite things include thunderstorms!

Training & Manners: Aria is house-trained in her foster home where she is let out regularly. She's a sweet and affectionate girl but is learning not to jump up when greeting people (all 12 pounds of her!) or go straight to a face lick. She is food-motivated and smart, so training just requires a little time. This sweet girl enjoys a car ride and is always happy when invited along. She walks well on a leash and sleeps soundly in a secure space at night.

Health & Care: Aria is spayed, chipped, heartworm negative, up to date on her vaccinations, and recently had a dental cleaning. She'll just need her monthly flea and heart preventatives, like any dog. She has a beautiful shiny black coat and regular grooming will keep her looking and feeling her best.

Other Animals: Aria loves other dogs! She has also lived with cats and gets along well with them.

Children: Aria loves kids of all ages and is a happy playmate.

Ideal Home: Aria isn't picky and would be happy in a loving home whether an apartment, condo, townhome or single-family residence, as long as she has the opportunity for daily play and exercise. She can be left alone in a secure space for several hours and will greet you with kisses when you return.

Overall: Aria will bring a love song to any home. Is she the one to put a smile on your face? Then visit www.PoodleandPoochRescue.org to fill out an adoption application. If it seems like it could be a good match, her foster family will reach out with more information. Her adoption donation is $275.
