ARENA (LM) Australian Shepherd & Corgi Mix Allentown, PA

Please let us introduce Arena! This pretty girl was discovered in the remote area of a park tied to a picnic table - alone and scared. Thankfully, a good Samaritan came to her rescue and brought her to the local vet clinic. She was treated for heart worms and has been receiving lots of TLC in foster care with one of the kind vet techs. She now has the green light to go to her forever home where she’ll have the happy life she deserves.

Arena is between 1-1/2 and 2 years old and weighs just under 35 pounds. Breed is a best guess, but we believe she’s and Australian Shepherd/Corgi mix. She has Aussie coloring and body features with coarser Corgi-type fur. Whatever her mix, she’s a sweetheart. Don’t you love that adorable short tail?

Arena gets along well with other dogs and she likes cats. She can be a little shy with humans at first, but warms up nicely to a gentle touch. Once she feels safe, she loves engaging and playing. She also loves kids. We think the best age for children in her home is 6 years or older. She still has puppy energy so she does get excited and might unintentionally knock over little ones.

This lovely little lady was apparently living outside and did not have much in the way training so she’ll need a family willing to teach her how to become the dog she’s meant to be. A home with another canine buddy to show her the ropes would be ideal. She is a smart girl who wants to please and will learn very quickly. She behaves well in a crate and when taken out regularly has not had inside accidents. She does okay on a leash, but will pull some when distracted. With a consistent routine, patience and positive reinforcement, she’ll have it all mastered in two shakes of that cute short tail.

Arena has been spayed and is up to date on vaccinations. She’s also microchipped and on monthly flea/tick and heart worm preventative. All this darling girl needs now is a loving and patient family to give her the life she is waiting for.
