Archie's Story

This adorable 5-month-old, 10-pound Cavapoo/Cavoodle is a total sweetheart — but he’s also a social little guy with some very specific needs.

A compatible, similarly sized canine playmate is a MUST. Archie LOVES his toys (seriously... you’ll often find a couple dozen scattered around his kennel), but nothing beats playing with other dogs. He is thriving with the dog companionship in his foster home, and while he adores his people, people alone aren’t enough to meet his social needs.

A single-family home with a fenced yard is REQUIRED. Archie can be quite the vocal little fellow and likes to alert-bark at noises and people — even people he knows! Because of this, apartment, condo, townhome, or other shared-wall living situations are not a good fit.

Families with at least one member who is retired or works from home and who meet all of Archie’s other requirements will receive priority.

The good news? Archie has settled beautifully into his foster home. He is house-trained, does well in a kennel when another dog is nearby (and especially when kenneled with another dog), and is an absolute bundle of love, fun, and puppy energy.

Archie was surrendered after his college-age owner returned to school this fall. He didn’t ask for this change — but he’s ready to find the family who will be his forever.

If you’re looking for a playful, affectionate, dog-loving little guy and can meet Archie’s requirements, he may be your perfect match!

If you are interested in meeting Archie, please complete an online application at https://hopeanimalrescueofiowa.duplie.com/forms/196/dog-application

Adoption fee is $300 which includes spay/neuter, microchip, and age appropriate vaccines.
