April's Story
Puppy April looking for a family!
Meet April, our 6-month-old blue Doberman mix sweetheart.

April is a well-rounded, active young girl who is thriving in foster care. She is currently eating 2 cups of food twice daily and is fully house-trained, with no recent accidents.

She enjoys an active daily routine that starts early—she’s up around 5:30 AM, eats breakfast at 7:00 AM, and has dinner at 6:00 PM. April loves spending time outdoors, whether she’s relaxing in the sun, playing in a fenced yard, or joining in on longer adventures like 2+ mile runs alongside a bike attachment, followed by an evening walk.

Social and friendly, April does well with kids and adults alike. She also gets along with other dogs, though she is a more enthusiastic, rough-and-tumble playmate who especially enjoys games of chase and “keep away” with her foster siblings. Her behavior around cats is unknown, but she appears to have a low prey drive and has shown no interest in neighboring chickens, squirrels, or rabbits.

April loves simple joys—chewing on sticks, balls, and bones—and will occasionally bark or “talk” to communicate.

She is crate trained and settles beautifully when left alone in her kennel. April is also an excellent car rider and typically relaxes by lying down for the duration of the trip. She is currently learning basic obedience skills and continues to make great progress.

She respects a physical fence and may pause to greet nearby dogs, but she does not require a fence for recall.

This fabulous foster is a Doberman Rescue Minnesota foster dog.

Please read all adoption steps and policies carefully on our website. http://dobermanrescueminnesota.com/adoption-steps/

Qualified adopters are within the approved adoption area, and Adopter will be requested to visit this foster dog at the foster family home. Our foster families are generally located within a 250 mile radius of Minneapolis, MN.

All DRM dogs are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, health checked, microchipped, 4DX tested, and on monthly flea/tick and heartworm prevention.
