April's Story

April is not your grandma's Chihuahua... she's a spunky, go-getter who loves to play with the big dogs and go out to adventure. She can be chill in the house, but she's fairly active and craves a life where she can go out and see the world, work on training and do fun things. She will do best with a dog savvy person. She loves to fall asleep on your lap or chest.

* We are seeking a home with a fenced yard for April please *

We got April after she was found as a stray in California, wandering the streets looking dirty, weary and thirsty. April turned out to be the most affectionate, personable little dog! In typical Chihuahua fashion, she bonds quickly with her person and wants to be with them and be snuggled up.

- 11 pounds and approximately 2 years old

- Likely a Chihuahua mix

- Fostered with a number of other dogs of all sizes, ages and both sexes. She loves to play with other dogs and even keeps up with a Belgian Malinois puppy.

- Fostered with a cat and does not bother the cat

- Kids ages 10+ if there are kids in the home. April was bouncy, happy and persistently enthusiastic towards a toddler she met and that level of affection may be too much for very small kids.

- Walks on leash and is happy to take a stroll. Has the energy to keep up being a nice little adventure buddy too. April does pull on leash and is working on simmering down her excitement to go "full steam ahead."

- Doing well with her potty habits

- Crate trained and sleeps in her crate at night.

April is vaccinated, microchipped, spayed, heartworm tested negative, dewormed and current on flea/tick/heartworm prevenatives.
